Frequently Asked Questions


Q. Do I need dance experience to take lessons? 

A.  No you do not need experience.  All dancers start as newcomers.  The more you practice through attending dances and taking lessons, the better you will become.


Q. Where are you located?

A. We are located at 1111 Noble Street in Downtown Anniston next to the Dark Horse Saloon.


Q. What should I wear to dance class?

A. Wear something casual and comfortable.  Ideally, adies should wear dress shoes that have a closed back and support around the ankle. with a smooth bottom.  Gentlemen should wear dress shoes that have a smooth bottom.  It is best to have a shoe that has a leather or suede bottom. Sneakers with heavy tread, hiking or working books or slip-on Sandals are not recommended.  Many dancers choose to invest in dance shoes designed specifically for ballroom dancing.


Q. Do I have to compete to take lessons?

A. No.  Our primary focus is teaching beginners and social dancers.  We do offer competitive opportunities for those who are interested.


Q. How much does it cost?

A.  Group lessons are $10 per person per lesson.  Private lessons are $60 per hour or $30 per half hour.


Q. What is the most effective way to learn to dance?

A. A comprehensive program of Private Lessons and Group Classes is the fastest, most cost effective way to the learn.  But you are always free to choose the program that best fits your schedule and budget.


Q. Do I need a partner?

A. No it is not necessary to come with a partner.  We rotate partners in our classes. 


Q. Do I have to rotate partners in group class? 

A.  No, if you and your partner are not comfortable rotating in group class, just let your instructor know before class.  You should try to enter rotation as soon as you are comfortable.  It will help you become a better dancer.
